A SPIRITUAL "Walk About"

Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

There's something about seeing what's over the next ridge that I love.  I can only sit in a tree stand for so long before I want to explore what just out of view.  While getting to know the Cielo Vista Ranch, in Colorado, I loved to just go walking.  The Ranch was over 83,000 acres and it would take many lifetimes to get to know every acre...  but I loved to try.
For the aboriginal people in Australia, males go on a "walk-about" as part of their rite of passage into manhood. They travel alone across their land to become familiar with it and thus a part of it
In the New Testament there is a word that translates from Hebrew to English as "to live".  That word is "peripateo". It literally means to "walk about." According to Paul, our trust in the gospel of God's grace through Christ results in a "walk about" in Him; we become familiar with him and a part of Him, as we spend our life  walking with God.
So as we experience God's love and explore His relationship with us, we learn more and more about our lives in Him.  This is a lifetime, not just a one time thing.
Like I loved to explore the mountains, we should love to explore all, every aspect of His love and grace, that God has for us as we walk with Him.

When we learn to walk with God, we become close to Him...  and Galatians 2:20 should be our ultimate goal.

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Every single day we should be a spiritual "WALK ABOUT".
