Statement Of Faith
The Word of God: We believe the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God without error in the original manuscripts. Written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and thus has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. - 1 Peter 1:20,21
The Trinity: We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. - Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14
God the Father: We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that he hears and answers prayer, and that he saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ. - John 3:16; I Tim. 6:15, 16; Eph. 4:6
Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, conceived of the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to Earth.
Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that he is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. - John 14:16,17; John 16:8-11; Acts 1:8
Regeneration: We believe all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. - Romans 3:23; I John 1:9; Eph. 2:8
Christian Conduct: We believe a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of His followers, that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. - Phil. 3-10; Gal. 5:16, 22-25; James 1:27
Life and Marriage: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. We also believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, by birth, and that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that God created covenant marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman, and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union. - Psalm 139:13-16; Genesis 1:26-27, 2:18-25; I Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4
Religious Liberty: We believe that every human being has direct access to God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith. - Heb.10:18-22
Church Cooperation: We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church and encourage every believer, as part of God's family, to regularly attend the fellowship of His church. - Ps. 122:1; Peter 2:5,6; Col. 1:18
Christian Witness: We believe every believer has a scriptural mandate to share his life of faith in Christ. We believe the only Christ many will ever see is the Christ they see in us, thereby making our personal lives the most powerful influence for an effective Christian witness. - Matt. 28:19,20; John 20:21; Matt. 5:16
The Last Things: We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. - Rev. 22:12; I Thess. 4:`6,17; Luke 16:22-25
Satan and Hell: We believe in the personality of Satan, The Prince and Power of this world, and his ultimate defeat by Jesus Christ. We believe in a literal hell, a place prepared for Satan and his followers. 1 Pet. 5:8; Eph. 2:2; Matt. 25:41
