CUT YOURSELF FREE
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
I was so excited, off in the distance I could see an antler sticking up out of the knee high grass. It was obviously an elk antler and I hurried to it to pick it up. As I got close I saw two antlers and I was even more excited. When I finally walked up to what I thought was one dead elk ended up being two dead bulls that had gotten caught up in a fight and during the fight they had become hopelessly entangled and eventually died. What a shame... but I'm glad I found them and we carried them off the mountain.
It doesn't happen often, but occasionally someone finds a deer that has gotten entangled with another buck and somehow only them dies and his head separates from his body and the live buck carries the head of the dead buck around connected by the antlers. It's a very disturbing and sad situation.
As Christians we occasionally have something similar happen to us. We attached ourselves to our old sin habits and the longer we allow ourselves to hang on to them, the more entangled they become in us and the more difficult life becomes.
Ephesians 4:22
"that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit"
The longer we stay entangle by our old sinful habits the harder it is to get back to where we need to be.
Cut yourself free from your past sinful nature and allow your heart to heal and move forward
