DEALING WITH WOUNDS
Ps 37:7
"Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."
It was a relaxing afternoon and was ready to enjoy the last few hours, watching for a good buck coming out into the winter wheat field. Before I could settle in, I noticed someone crossing walking across the end of the field on my leased land. I rushed to catch the trespasser and I was able to cut him off, before he got off the property.
As I approached the person he began swearing and throwing insults at me. He knew he was breaking the law, yet he was abusive and obnoxious towards me. When he finally left our property, I was left shaking and the thought of a possible relaxing afternoon was over.
What do you do when someone, who is just downright mean and rude, wrongs you?
We have all been wounded by someone who had a malicious intent to simply hurt us. It may have been something they said or even a betrayal of our trust. Whatever they may have done or said, it does no good to worry or even obsess over the wrong that was done.
Attempting to retaliate leaves us thinking and acting like the one who did the wrong. These responses on your part will produce a bitterness that will stain every part of our life. However, choosing to put the situation and the one who caused it in the Lord's Hands and to wait for Jesus to handle it, causes you to live by faith. You accept that the situation may be beyond your control, but it is not beyond the control of Jesus. And what will Jesus do with your situation? "...the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous." (Ps 37:17).
Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"says the Lord.
Those who wait on the Lord win. Go out and win!
