ENTERING INTO YOUR CELEBRATION

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

One of the best times of the entire fall is when hunters gather around a buck pole and someone pulls in with a big buck.  There are handshakes, hugs, cheers and a general celebration.  It's one of my favorite things.

I've always been a Green Bay Packers fan and there's something similar to the buck pole experience within Lambeau field.  31 years ago defensive back, Leroy Butler made the first ever, Lambeau Leap into the front row of the stands.  Ever since those that score on the Frozen Tundra make the jump.

All those in the front row or two hug and pull on the one that entered the stands while all the rest of the attendees cheer and scream, not unlike hunters excited for each other.

While these celebrations are exciting and wonderful... they pale in comparison to what we will experience when one day we enter into our eternal home in Heaven.  We will be welcomed with cheers and hugs and be greeted with love that we have  never experienced here on earth.

There is one way to get to see this and that's by having a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Many say that they know God and believe that Jesus was a great man... but do we have the relationship where we know that we will enter into the heavenly celebration when we leave this world.

1 Peter 1:3-5

"In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade"

There's no way we can earn our way... the price is too great and it's already been paid... we just have to trust Jesus and believe He is who He said He is ans that He did all the Bible says He did... then trust Him for your eternal salvation.  Nothing else... not good works, not going to church, not giving enough money.  Jesus said, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER ACCEPT THROUGH ME" (John 14:6)

What is it you are counting on?  Are you good enough?  You're not.  Trust Jesus!
