JUST ASK, HE WILL ANSWER
Matt 7:7
"Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you."
It had been a long morning. Jim and I had hunted up a big ridge above Uyak Bay on Kodiak Island since daylight, now it was approaching noon. We had fought brush all the way. We were looking for a place to glass for blacktail deer. Finally finding no openings in the brush big enough, we decided to walk back down through a mile of narrow creek bottom.
Walking in these types of confined areas, in the middle of brown bear haunts was not the best ideas, but it was easier than where we had been walking.
A few minutes into our decent we jumped a deer and it was soon swallowed up by the thick brush. Instinctively, I let out a call like a distressed fawn, in an attempt to call it back. Instead of a deer coming to the call, a huge, half ton, charging bear came crashing in looking for an easy meal. Luckily for me, Jim panicked and pulled the trigger on his rifle stopping the bear at about 20 ft.
As the bear turned to leave i started praying for God's protection for Jim and myself. We escaped out of the creek bottom to the ridge above. We were in a bad spot and needed to get out quickly, God provided the way and saved our lives that day
Too many people are not persistent in their asking, seeking and knocking so they are unable to find the way out of their problems. God promises to provide a way out of our problems. It is sure but it is conditioned upon our determination to ask, seek and knock until He opens the best door.
Remember that the way that we think is the best isn't always so. Sometimes we think the valley is the place to get out, when it was really the ridge top. To find the way, we have to ask. Ask with full confidence that God not only has the answer but also that He loves us so much that He will always have our best interest at heart.
Isa. 55:8,9
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
