KEEP CLIMBING

Isaiah 40:13-14
Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor? Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?

The bulls were bugling high above us on San Francisco Peak.  We pushed hard up through the aspens and black timber, trying to get up to them.  Once in a while we would hit a small opening that would afford us a view of the valley below.  The high we got on the mountain the more spectacular the view of the valley was below and the clearer the picture was of our surroundings.

When we finally reached the top and got closer to the elk the view was so awesome we stopped to take in it's magnificence before continuing on the hunt.

Charles Spurgeon once said, "Our knowledge of Christ is somewhat like climbing one of the mountains. When you are at the base you see only a little: the mountain itself appears to be only half as high as it really is. Confined in a little valley, you discover scarcely anything but the rippling brooks as they descend into the stream at the foot of the mountain. Climb the first rising knoll, and the valley lengthens and widens beneath your feet. Go higher, and you see the country for four or five miles around, and you are delighted with the widening prospect."

Then he said, "Higher still, and the scene enlarges... All these things please and delight you, and you say, "I could not have imagined that so much could be seen at this elevation.'"

The Christian walk is very similar.  When we're new in Christ, we don't see or understand much of Him.  The more we climb the clearer His beauty and  majesty become to us.  The climb is our time spent in His word, time in prayer and living out our walk with Him and others. But none of us will ever reach the top of the summit in this life... but God will continue to show Himself more and more as we climb through life.

Romans 11:34 & 36
For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?  36 For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Find your mountain and start climbing and keep climbing until the Lord calls you home, when He will make it all clear to us.
