MAKE A DIFFERENCE
John 13:35
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
I have several hunting friends that are very special to me. Some left a week ago, some left today, and some I didn’t get to see this fall. All of these friends, I know that I could call with any need and they would be there for me. Someone recently told me that those friends are called “3:30 AM friends”. Those are friends that you could call any time of day or night and they would be there for you. Most of us are lucky (more-so blessed) to have one of these friends. I’m not sure if I can count all those that would respond immediately for me. I am blessed… and they are great friends.
When Jesus said these words, in the scripture above, it was just after "lowering" Himself to wash his disciple's feet. At the time they didn't know what He was doing and argued that He shouldn't be doing it. But Christ was the perfect example of what we should be...
Christ gave 100% of himself, to the point of death. But we can go back a time prior to that when He was willing to leave a perfect heaven and come to an earth where He was deal with the same hardships that you and I deal with. He had the same pain and a terrible realization of abandonment and rejection… Yet, He still gave it all for you and me. If we use His example, we will give up our "lives" daily. If we do this, by putting others needs above our own, many people will see that we are different from the world.
Practice this daily. Start with small steps and you will get addicted to the joy that it brings. Life is short, make a difference!
