SOLD OUT
Matthew 26:14-16
Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
Back many years ago my good friends dad harvested a huge buck for our area. A few days after taking the buck someone offered him $50 for the buck and he needed the money, and sold it. Ever since selling those antlers he wishes he had them back.
Most of us have regrets of selling items when we needed money. I've done it with a few rifles and archery gear, and occasionally I've been able to go back and redeem those items, but very rarely
It brings up a very interesting question. How much would it take for you to be willing to sell out Christ?
Is that a shocking question for you? How could I even ask?
Today is two days before Christ's crucification. It's the day that Judas went to the chief priests to sell Jesus out... And for what? Thirty pieces of silver... The life of The Messiah sold for 5 weeks wages.
We would never do that, would we? If we were asked, I think that every one of us would raise our hand and say, "not me.". Yet each time we choose to sin we turn out back on Christ and what He did for us on the cross. We sell Him out for less than thirty pieces of silver... We do it to fulfill our own desires. And I am no different than anyone else.
The good news is this, Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift from God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Be SOLD OUT for Christ, not a sell out
