THE ANSWERS ARE ALL IN THERE
Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
It was right near the end of elk season in southern Colorado. Some locals had snuck into a hidden valley on private land and surrounded a herd of elk. It didn't matter of they had legal tags or not, they were trespassing and they weren't hunting... just killing. Before the shooting ended 15 bull elk lay dead in the snow. It was a massacre and it was a disgusting display.
What a tumultuous time we are living in. Since Saturday morning the news is full of disturbing atrocities in Israel and elsewhere. So many are thinking this is the beginning of a new evil, but in fact, this evil is 1000's of years old and won't end until Christ returns in victory at the end of the tribulation period.
Everyone is looking for the answers to today's issues. We all seem to be seeking out the key to turning this life, this world around. The news is just one disaster and painful situation after another, with no apparent answer to be found.
When I was newly married and wondering what God had for me in this life, I went to my pastor and asked him if he could recommend a good book to read, to learn how to find God's will for my life. His answer was simple, "yes, the Bible". Duh! Of course, it's God's word given directly to us for all the answers to our questions.
It was the late president Ronald Reagan that once said, "Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face."
Why would we look anywhere else.
In Matthew 7, verse 8 is said, "For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
These are Jesus's own words to us. They are a promise that doesn't end, a guarantee. Why look anywhere else? God's plans are playing out before our eyes. As its been said "our world is not falling apart, its falling in place."
Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Psalm 103:20)
