… Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…
As a firearm instructor, I always stressed to my students that a safety on a firearm can never be totally be totally relied upon. The safety us merely a mechanical device, and as any device made by man, is subject to failure. I made it a priority to keep repeating, “Off target, off trigger”. In reality, there is nothing in this world that man creates that can be totally relied on. All earthy things are subject to failure.
There is one thing however that can be totally relied and depended on and that is the faithfulness of God our Father and the work that His Son did on the cross to save us from our sins. As the verse in Hebrews states, Jesus is the author and the perfector of our faith. The work that Jesus did and continues to do is our lives is perfect and complete. It does not and cannot fail.
People and things of the world will fail you. That is the cold, hard fact. What are you relying on today? Is your faith relying on the “man-made safety” that will surely fail or is your faith in the One that is perfect and can never fail?
God is faithful! He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise! He can be dependent on! Is your faith and trust in the One who never fails?
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
