A BETTER PLAN
Jeremiah 29:11
11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
David had played ball with the other boys since he was in middle school. They knew each other well and played as a team. They were very good and their potential was great. Just before their senior year of the high school basketball season David was removed from the team unfairly. The team went on to win the state championship.
David could have quit but instead the day after getting the news about basketball he went to the track coach and asked if he could compete there. The coaches answer was, "we'll start training tomorrow morning".
David didn't get to play in the state finals for the basketball team, but he did run the half mile and do it very well. He went on to run not only for his high school, but also got a full scholarship to the prestigious Rice University and got a free education that launched him into a very successful engineering and business career.
There's and old saying that goes, "when God closes one door, He opens another." We have to be willing to accept it when He closes some doors and willing to walk through the other doors He opens.
God's plan will always be a better plan for our lives than we would have on our own. Boldy run through the open doors and work hard to achieve the goals He has set before us.
Don't be discouraged, He knows your yesterday, today and tomorrow. He knows what lies ahead and if you are His child He promises... Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
He's got a better plan.
