HIS AMAZING POWER

Ephesians 1:19
"And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power."

We had been into elk all morning.  Each patch of timber we entered held elk and we got close at each turn.  But close, as they say, "only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." When archery hunting everything must go right. 

Mid morning we were in a new piece of dark timber and could hear something just below us.  It was a roaring sound but it was out of place in the middle of 10's of 1000's of acres of land.  We walked downhill a short ways and broke out onto a rock outgrowing that took our breath away.  Looking down, we saw what was making the noise.  The small trout that we had fished and hunted further up the valley fell 200 plus feet straight down to the valley below.  It was magnificent.

The same slow, calm meandering stream a mile north turned into a powerful force where we were standing.  We stood for a long time,  no one saying a word... God's power was so evident here.

Running water can be calming and restful along a fishing stream or river can be powerful and even destructive after heavy rains.  And we need that power across our country to turn turbines in our generating hydro plants.  Many areas would have no electricity without the power of the water turning the turbines.

In a similar way, God provides the power we lack to succeed at life.  Without Him we can't make it through all of life.

We hear about God's power and greatness to help us when we lose our job, when our health falters, when we go through a painful relationship issues or when our dreams are smashed. Yet, the main question we can ask ourselves is, "How do I rely on His power?"

The answer is found in the verse above..."And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power" (Ephesians 1:19).

According to the Apostle Paul, we rely on God's power to work in us by faith. As followers of Christ it is our hope that is greater than we know because Christ resides in us. That means you and I have Divine greatness in us.  We have an inheritance, yes, but we also have power for today.  We are a child of the King of kings, joint heirs with Jesus. Those who believe in Him experience the wonder of His power.

No matter how under equipped we feel, we have the assurance that in our situation God "is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us" (Ephesians 3:20).

God isn't limited by what we ask of Him. He can go far beyond that. In fact, He does exceedingly greater than what we ask or dream. However, the key is in believing that He can and having faith that He will .

So, instead of doubting what I think God can't or won't do, we need to start believing in what He can do! It'll made a great difference in your life.

Through His might we can do amazing things. Relying on God to do great things through us isn't any different than relying the water to produce electricity.  His creation reveals His power.

With God, we can do more than we could ever hope for.  So, what is it that We need?  Call out to Him in faith and God will supply the power.
