ASK FOR DIRECTIONS
Romans 12:18-21
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Linda was looking for shed antlers, one of her very favorite things to do. It was an extremely foggy spring morning she wasn't exactly sure where she was. She had already had some success and had an armload of antlers to carry. She was at a place where she didn't know which way to turn in the fog. She stopped and prayed, telling God she wasn't sure where to go and how to get out of the place she was. She asked God for direction. She felt like God put His hands on her shoulders and turned her body.
She listened and went the way she felt He was leading. Within seconds she saw antlers on the ground in front of her. She stopped and picked up a huge matched set of whitetail antlers... then she walked on. Within a few minutes she came to a gravel road and I was waiting there with the truck
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Its a new year, a new start. Are we tired of hearing about it yet? God made the earth to go around the sun in 365 days... maybe because that's the amount of time it takes for you and I to realize we need to reevaluate our direction. Sometimes we make big changes... Sometimes we don't.
These verses in Romans are a "hard pill to swallow" for most of us. But think of what difference they can make in a life, or a world. Can you imagine what our world would be like if we all lived by these verses? Or what your life would be like, if we followed God's word and did what He calls us to do and go where He calls us to go?
As we start into this new year. Consider your relationships.. Consider how others see us. Imagine what power we have to change lives... By a couple small acts of love. Ask God for His direction in dealing with others. Read His word and follow Him.
Change your view of others. Look at them with the eyes of Jesus. Learn to treat the "unlovable" with love and respect. They will soon be lovable. You can change the world... One life at a time.
