CREATING BLESSINGS
Proverbs 11:24-25
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. 25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
This morning as I sat looking out on the waters of Populus Lake in NW Ontario the words from the Sunday morning service in the lodge of Rushing Wind Camp came to life.
I am sharing a camp with about 25 guests of one man, His name is Gary. Gary is a financial advisor that has been bringing men along with their sons, to this camp for many years. He teaches that true financial freedom comes from giving. His message was powerful and as I listened I thought, "Christ loved me enough to give everything He had and everything He knew to come and die for me".
That being said, how can I hold back any part of what He gave me, when I see any need in any place?
As I watched the lake in front of me and saw 15 pure white pelicans swim by. I've never seen them up close before and they were beautiful. It was a gift to see those beautiful birds. He keeps on giving!
This life is so short and eternity is forever. What we do here in this life has eternal consequences, one way or the other... Generosity, with time, effort, money etc... has immediate, long term and eternal benefits, not only to those on the receiving end but as much or more so to the giver.
Do you believe that the bible is true and that it is inspired of God? Then contemplate this, Acts 20:35 says,
"In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" (Acts 20:35)
Do you want to be extraordinarily blessed in this life? Bless someone else. Written in Malachi 3:10, it says,
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows." (Malachi 3:10)
The verse says, "test Me". Put God to the test. Give above and beyond to what it is that God is calling you to.
The second part of that verse is a promise, "I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows."
Do you believe God? Test Him today, bless someone.
