GIVING GOD CONTROL

John 11:43-44
Then Jesus shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in grave clothes, his face wrapped in a head cloth. Jesus told them, "Unwrap him and let him go!"

It was a long walk in, but a successful walk.  We were back in a few miles when my hunter took the bull.  Generally we try to divide the loads up in packing and it comes out evenly.  For some reason when we got done loading we still had a front quarter left over.

Being young... and not wanting to make the 6 mile round trip again, I offered to tie the extra 50 pounds to my already heavy load.  I made it out but the burden of carrying all that extra weight was overwhelming and it cost me dearly and that load and many others over the years has worn my body out.

How often we question our circumstances and if we can get through them...  If we can bear the load we are carrying for even another day.

In 2 Corinthians it says, "my grace is sufficient for you"...  We can rest assured that our very lives are in God's hand.  Our daily struggles are even HIS concern.  Our burdens don't need to drag us down, we can give them up to HIM.  Even in death we (those that have truly given ourselves to Christ) are promised so much more than we have here.

I read a poem a while back...  They are good thoughts.

"The Bend in the Road"

Sometimes we come to life's crossroads
And we view what we think is the end.
But God has a much wider vision
And he knows that it's only a bend-

The road will go on and get smoother
And after we've stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us
Is often the path that is best.

So rest and relax and grow stronger,
Let go and let God share your load
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow-
You've just come to a bend in the road.

Allow God to direct our paths this week and know that HE will direct us in HIS way if we let him.
