GREAT IS THE SERVANT
Matthew 24:46
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
A few years back I asked a friend how I could help him out. He told me about a project that he wanted to do for their ministry. I mentioned it to Micah, my grandson, and two others and they said, "when are we going to do it". What a desire to serve. So two months later we were there and we were blessed to serve. I couldn't do the job on my own, but with guys that love the Lord and loved to serve it got done. Great men doing great things to serve in God's name. I'm humbled to be their friend.
The next year we found another project and I mentioned it to four or five friends and together, we got it done.
In Matthew 20:26-28 it says, "26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
What an example to us, when the King of Kings came to earth, not expecting to be served... He came to serve. This should be our focus in this life, to live out what Jesus did for us.
We must truly become servants if we want to experience true fulfillment. We must become and remain meek and humble. As God's servants we should have no other agenda, except to do His will. When we become faithful to do His will, to serve as He served, it is then He will fulfill the plans He desires for us in our lives... and even in those things that we desire!
When we become a faithful servant we share in God's success, we have direct connections to His power and wealth and are able to walk in His love. Let's get our hearts in servant mode and watch how God brings about all the things we need and want. When our hearts are on serving... He in turn serves us.
John Hagee wrote "The measure of a man's greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves."
We can never outdo God.... We are most blessed when we are serving others through God's love.
