NO WEAPON FORMED UP AGAINST US

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.  This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the Lord.

There is something that goes on in hunting that has always amazed me.  It defies all odds and when I've been involved in it,  or watched it on TV... I'm amazed by it. What is it?  If you've waterfowl hunted or watched it on TV, you've likely been  amazed as well.

There are times when a small flock of ducks come into a set of decoys,  3 or 4 hunters stand up and each shoot 3 shots each of #2 shot at the ducks and they all fly away unscathed.  If we do the math, that's approximately 2,000 shot flying at approximately 1,500 feet per second... all aimed at a flock of ducks and they all fly away.  When it's happened, it's surprising, sad and somewhat funny.  The weapon were ready, aimed and fired... but they didn't "prosper".

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I often feel there are days when there are weapons coming against me that are prospering in destroying me.  And yet at the end of the day I still stand and the Lord stands alongside of me.

I read a short note yesterday that said, "God never said that the weapons wouldn't form, He just promised that they wouldn't prosper". If we have a personal relationship with God and weapons come against us in life, we have the promise that they will not prosper.  Our God still sits on His throne in Heaven and He is still in control.

Most of us, including me, would prefer to think of a godly or sacred place as some bright place, filled with good positive feelings. We don't want to think that something as ugly and brutal as combat could be involved in any way with God's spiritual realm. However, would any true Christian say that Calvary Hill was not a sacred space?

The weapons of man, a sword, a hammer and spikes, a crown of thorns, a whip and even a brutal cross were all brought against Christ... But in the end not one of these weapons won.  Three days after Christ died, He rose again... Even the weapon of death didn't stand up against Gods power.

So take on God's armor and trust that while they might be built to hurt us, "no weapon formed against us shall prosper."
