PROMISES KEPT
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life"
I had promised Chris that if he spent all day, every day in the blind we called "The Condo" he would shoot a good buck. I was sure of it. Now here we were, it was the last evening of his hunt absent he still hadn't seen a good buck to shoot. I was sitting on a ridge above "The Condo" and I looked down at my clock and realized that there was 2 minutes left of legal shooting light left. It looked too dark already for me. I felt terrible... then I heard a shot. It was in the direction of "The Condo" but sounded too far away.
I listened for another shot, but I heard nothing. I was slightly hopeful, but I didn't think that it was close enough. I walked to the truck and began driving to meet up with Chris. When I got to where I could see the field, I could see Chris's flashlight on the far side of the field. I quickly drove across the field and found Chris standing over a great 8 point buck. Chris said, "you promised... and you came through."
Way back 800 years before Jesus's birth was foretold and promised. And God followed through just as He promised.
Micah 5:2
"But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will come forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His times of coming forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
Jesus came as promised and when He ascended into Heaven, He promised that He would send "The Comforter" and He did.
Today we celebrate the greatest gift of all... Jesus Christ. He came as a baby, grew and died a Savior, rise again as a victory and will return as a King. We wait on that promise.
He keeps His promises.
On a personal note, Linda, myself and all of the God's Great Outdoors family would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year. We have been so blessed and we pray that we have blessed you as well.
May God bless you abundantly through this season and going forward in a new year.
