TRUE STABILITY IN LIFE
Proverbs 13:20
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
The big bull elk came in fast and Jeff was on knees and ready. When the bull pasted at 15 yards Jeff was at full draw and his guide thought it was a done deal. Unfortunately when Jeff released his arrow it flew high and over the bulls back.
When they got back into camp my uncle asked Jeff why he missed. Jeff's answer... "the arrow must have been bent." My uncle replied, "you go back up on the mountain and find that arrow, If it's not bent when you find it, you had better bend it" it made for a great laugh.
Our life is like an arrow flying through life. Somewhere out there in life is a target to shoot for, but an bent arrow or an arrow flying without stability rarely will hit it's target. Like Jeff's arrow that missed it's target on the mountain, an arrow missing the mark in life can cause a great amount of disappointment or pain.
What adds stability to the hunting or target arrow when it has been released towards it's target. Generally it's the three fletching or feathers attached to the shaft.
Each of us has three things that will continually keep our life on the right path. The three things that act as the fletching in our lives will always be;
1) The scripture- we need to be continually reading God's word to gain the wisdom on how we get through life.
2) The spirit- when we've come to Christ we are given the Holy Spirit to fill us and direct us in right and wrong.
3) The saints- surround yourself with the saints or Christians that will hold you accountable. They will love you and keep you going straight.
So for true stability in life allow these three things to help you to hit the "life target" that God has set before you. The scripture in front of you... the spirit inside of you... and the saints around you. Keep them there, all the time and you will hit your target.
