BLIND FAITH
Isaiah 26:3
God will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him, all whose thoughts are fixed on Him
One night, coming off the mountain in total darkness, I felt sure I would plummet to the valley below and die or at least be badly injured. We were carrying a trophy out on our backs and our flashlights had gone dead. The lead guy had to feel his way along the narrow trail on the near vertical rock slide and the other followed like a pack string of horses. Each of us followed the one in front of him and we had to trust and have faith that they were leading us safely down the unseen trail.
Without that trust, we might not have survived. That is the kind of faith here in Isaiah. We need to know that the One leading us can be trusted completely.
Habakkuk learned how to trust God and not be affected by the negative stuff going on around him. He writes in Habakkuk 3:17-19...
"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, 18. yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. 19. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places."
When you're in a tight spot and problems are raging all around, there is a sense of uncertainty that tries to envelop the mind. If we are not careful, it is easy to get mentally sidetracked. By focusing on our problems and never looking up, we will fail to experience the peace of God.
Trust that God always has the best in mind for His children. Hold tight to this.
Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Begin living each day with the knowledge and faith that God has it all covered and while things might not go the way we expect or want... we can trust that they go just the way He planned... when we are living for Him and trusting Him with the outcome.
