LOVING WORDS

Proverbs 15:1-4
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 2 The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. 3 The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the    good. 4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

I've been so blessed, for the last 35 years, to be able to travel across the country to call turkeys, elk, deer and one almost fatal calling of a Kodiak brown bear.  But I also love talking to owls, cardinals, chickadees, bobwhite quail etc.

Learning to "say" the right thing at the right time when calling animals will make us a more successful hunter/caller.  The same is true in dealing with our speaking with people.  Talking to them in a soft loving fashion will get far more accomplished than raising our voice in anger.  People will gravitate to someone with loving talk and a caring personality.

The Bible tells us in the book of Peter how to give an answer

1 Peter 3:15
"but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect;"

Read the verses from Proverbs, above, and then reread them, "bind them on your heart" as the scripture says.  They will change your life and will definitely change the lives of others around you.

We need to pray that God would help us to "bridle" not only our tongues, but also the attitude by which words are said. As I've been told and tell others, "It's not so much what you say, but how you say it". Let's make sure that tongues give a SOFT ANSWER.
