WHAT ARE YOU FOCUSING ON?
Colossians 3:1-4
Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
The herd of bison was feeding in and out of cover and had no idea that Gary was close by. He moved slowly towards the giant animals, stopping when their heads were up and creeping slowly forward. Bison are nearsighted and didn’t notice Gary until it was too late. When he drew his bow the animals noticed movement, and lifted their heads, but the arrow was on it’s way.
Different animals have different levels of vision. What Gary did was probably not possible on whitetail deer as their vision is far greater. Bison are similar in vision as bears and hogs, they’re limited in sight.
How true is that of people as well. Some people have very poor sight when it comes to heavenly things. They become so focused on the things of this world that they completely miss out on the things that God has for them in life. Spending time in God’s word is the best way to expand your vision of what God has in store for you. Also, surrounding ourselves with people that have their eyes focused on godly things. Sharing conversations with those that care about us and what God wants is very helpful in keeping our eyes on Him.
Lastly, keeping our hearts in line with His, by spending time in prayer will give us clear vision into the past, present and future. Our sight will continue to become clearer when we focus on the Lord.
