SEEING THE BIG PICTURE
Luke 12:27
"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
God's creation is an amazing thing. When we look around at the beauty of nature in all its splendor. A small wildflower, a crystal stream, floating eagle on the afternoon thermals, a deer browsing on summer growth... How can someone look around and say, there is no Creator?
Yet, so many of us see this all with ours eyes daily and it rarely gets to our hearts.
Being an avid outdoorsman, I love to see game animals and have probably been guilty of looking past the beauty of the big picture to see something else. To see a bull elk is a fantastic sight, but if we miss the golden aspens, the seeping springs, the magpie or the mountain... We may have missed the best parts of creation.
Slow down, release the "pinpoint focuses" of life and learn to appreciate the whole picture. Slow down, breath in deep and appreciate the breath. Slow down, and learn to see all that God has blessed you with.
Lao Tzu once said,
"Nature does not hurry, yet everything gets done."
Psalm 96:11-12
May the heavens be joyful, and may the earth rejoice; May the sea roar, and all it contains;
12 May the field be jubilant, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
Learn to see beyond your focus of this moment. God has so much for us to see and appreciate. Slow down.
