We are "enough" in Christ.
Colossians 1:16-17
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Maybe it's just boys and men... maybe is females too, but all too often we as men feel like we have to be good enough to live up to our father's expectations of us. Athletics, hunting, fishing or business... It never seems to end. My dad's been gone for a dozen years and when something goes well, I want to call him and tell him about it. I still feel as though I have something to prove to my dad.
Maybe, like me, you also keep trying to do more to earn God's favor, to prove yourself worthy of HIS love. Through the couple of verses above, we see God's awesome power again. We can look at two different ways... we can see His power and feel undeserving or we can see it as a loving father would did it all for me.
If you have been chosen by God to be part of HIS family, then you are already enough in HIM. Continue to grow spiritually and emotionally and to grow closer in your walk with HIM... But realize that you are HIS child and HE not only created all these things in verses 16 & 17 but HE created you and me and we are His. I'm enough for Him.
Rest in that today.
